Does any body know what is going on with Obama and the whole health insurance thing?

Author: Okay so I live in California. I am young and can’t afford health insurance rite now. Does any one know if Obama is going to follow through with this whole health insurance thing. If so when is it supposed to kick in? And how will it work exactly? Will every body have free health insurance? Some one please explain this becuase I am realy confused.
The plan was never to give free insurance it is to require everyone to buy it. There will be subsidies available to lower income people to help them pay for it. There is already a program for low income people though. It’s called Medicaid. It has been all over the tv, newspapers and internet forever now. You must not pay much attention to what’s going on around you. Obama has been flying all over the country trying to get support to get the bill passed even though more than 50% of Americans don’t support it. Congress is still arguing over the bill and doesn’t seem to be heading towards a compromise that will pass anytime soon. With the estimated price tag of the bill (the government always seems to underestimate) there is no way to pay for it.

Don’t get your hopes up! H.R. 3200 is nothing like the promises President Obama is making. It would behoove him to read the bill so he can stop being accused of lying by so many people who have read the bill. Even the pie in the sky version of healthcare reform WILL NOT BE FREE. In Massachusetts that has a smaller scale version of what would be forced on Americans will cost those of us that have health insurance now, more money for less coverage and those with no coverage now, still an unaffordable premium for skimpy coverage.
If you can qualify for short-term medical insurance in California (if it is avalable, which it may not be) that would be what I would get if I were you. It covers the big things, does not have dollar maximums along the way (like x dollars a day in the hospital) and it is REALLY affordable. You can get this insurance now in most states. Nothing is free in life. If you are low income you can apply for Medi-cal. Call 211 or 311 for information.
If Obama gives so called free health insurance benefits may be cut for Medi-Care or other places. No one knows for sure how or who would pay for it.
