Have you changed your mind on health care reform since the Presidents speech last night?
Please explain why, and what made you change your mind?
I support reform, but I do not support the current plans. The speech did nothing to change my mind because it was loaded with inconsistencies.
Plan won’t increase deficit ever. However if expected savings related to reducing waste in the system do not produce expected results the plan will still be completely funded.
Illegal aliens will not receive federally funded insurance. However illegals will not be denied care regardless of ability to pay. How will this cost be funded?
Everyone will be required to have insurance and expected to pay. However those who still cannot afford it will be provided with tax credits. How will these tax credits be funded?
No new taxes to fund system. Well no new taxes unless you are not an insurance company or an employer.
These are just a few of the inconsistencies I found, but the speech was loaded with them. The biggest inconsistency of all is that the current plans circulating in Congress which do not truly reflect many of the caveats in the speech. I was also seriously put off by the all too typical Obama tactic of demonizing all critics of his plans. Is it possible for this man to just present his ideas without all the finger pointing? I was against ObamaCare yesterday and I remain so today. If anything all he did was reinforce the reasons why.

No.
He has truly convinced me on his intent to destroy this country, what it stands for, and how it functions. If allowed to do so, he will destroy all that the founding fathers designed and intended this country to be.
As in the news just this morning about ACORN. He comes from a background of community organizers much like that. Their intent is not based in legal or ethical foundations. Their objectives are not to further the countries best interests, but to grasp for power and influence at the peoples expense.

A Republican president sold congress on a bogus war that continues to cost America 10-12 billion dollars per month with no end in sight, but folks are up in arms over universal healthcare. You have unemployed and uninformed people arguing against their own self interests, which illustrates how effective the Republican propoganda machine is.
I’d like Obama to stand firm and fight for healthcare reform as he originally envisioned it instead of compromising and kowtowing to Republicans and moderate Democrats.

I think its possible that he lost support. As people find out how much debt he is talking about, we have to be concerned. He throws the word "trillion" around like its nothing. How much is a trillion? Well, we have not spent a trillion on the Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan yet and they have gone on for years. He is now talking about crushing business and government under incredible debt for a pie eyed health plan to insure people, who in many cases don’t like even getting up in the morning. 183 million people have health insurance without government interfering and they are not rich people. When you go through a drive thru at McDonalds and seen a middle aged woman working there, good chance she is doing that for about three shifts a week to access the health benefit plan for her family. Millions have gotten benefits through collective bargaining and public employee contracts..Obama would have all of that disappear. Can he not find a way to insure the 40 million without crushing the 183 million…what kind of government is that?…not democracy for sure. Now I see Obama as someone who is willing to purge my familiy and my job over some radical political idea.

Although I support Obama, I was on the fence about this reform. But it was a great speech, and I think we are on the right track.
Guess we will see what happens!

Oh, wonder why they exempt themselves to his WONDERFUL healthcare plan?
Nope, the government is still incompetent and the plans are still flawed. No matter how many nice words and how much rhetoric, it is still a bad idea.
