MIND OVER MATTER

Thursday, July 2nd, 2009

The mind is the most strongest and weakest muscle in the entire body. My goal is to become a competitive bodybuilder at the amateur level. For me to reach this difficult feat I have to violently train my body from neck down to my toes. What separates champions from the rest of the competition is how everything from the neck up is operating. There is an old saying “if the mind can conceive it then man can achieve it” most utter this saying because it sounds good, but this is something I truly believe.

I.) Reason and a motion, everyone says, behaves and even thinks in various ways for a reason, there is a reason for everything.
1.) My main reason for wanting to become a amateur bodybuilder is I love to be in shape, it changes my whole outlook on life and it is a great stress reliever.
2.) I am a competitive person, I love a challenge, and when I face that challenge I take it head on with no hesitation.
3.) The reason why both of us were even present is that we both wanted to be better football players but the motivation made us train even.
II.) Failure, no one is perfect, we all make mistakes and we get upset because we all seek perfection.
1.) I know that I will come up short sometimes but it is all in how I respond to that disappointment, my grandfather always said if you let it get you down, you stay down.
2.) In the sport of bodybuilding and life in general you cannot sit marinate in your failures, you have to get it out of your mind and concentrate on the next set.
3.) Everything happens for a reason, even failure. Failure could be telling you to slow down, speed up, stay humble or get confident, it is up to yourself to figure that out, learn from mistakes.

III.) Emulation, people become something based upon what has been done in that particular field in the past and how it can benefit them in the future.
1.) A professional football player could get inspired by a Jerry Rice, basketball player Michael Jordon, Boxing Muhammad Ali and so on.
2.) In my case or sport Arnold Schwarzenegger is considered the greatest bodybuilder ever, so I study his pictures, interviews and even his movies.
3.) I use to have too much pride and felt susceptible to having a role model or looking up to someone, I wanted to be my own man and create my own path.
4.) To see someone who has an amazing body compared to mine it humbles me greatly and I am motivated to work out harder and longer if need be.
